Stephanie DeLaBruere (aka Miss Stephanie to her students) is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist who has been educating SNAP-Ed participants for 9 years in southeast Massachusetts. Through various workshops in elementary classrooms, middle school cooking classes, summer camps, farmers markets, contributing to the Nutrition Bites Newsletter, and an occasional cooking show or two, she is a very busy educator.
One of the most rewarding parts of her job is providing opportunities to try new foods through taste tests in the classroom, cooking classes or farmer’s market tastings showing how healthy foods can be delicious too! The wide-eyed look of a student learning they like a new fruit or vegetable or the excitement of a classroom of kindergarteners right before a taste test is easily the most enjoyable part of her job. Another rewarding part of her job is teaming up with her hard-working, creative, and dedicated collaborators who inspire and teach her something new each day.
Some of her favorite activities include running and training for upcoming races, volunteering for various nonprofits and church activities, and experimenting with new foods in the kitchen. Her favorite food is pasta and her favorite dish is spaghetti and meatballs.
