We want to check-in and see how you’re doing! The last few months have been life-changing for all of us and it’s important to make sure we’re doing everything we can to stay healthy. In this post, you’ll find some resources for taking care of yourself as well as those around you. Everything from telling a joke (laughter is the best medicine) to trying new recipes (trying new foods is good for us!), play a game, or try a new physical activity.
Now that summer is here it’s a great time to take advantage of the weather and getting, safely, outside. Did you know that taking a walk in the woods is good for us? The Japanese call it ‘Shinrin-yoku’ or forest bathing. Just a 20-minute walk in the woods can lower your blood pressure and decrease stress levels. Is a great way for the whole family to reconnect with each other. Getting outside is a great for the whole family. And is inexpensive to!
We’re lucky to live in Massachusetts where there are some great parks:
There are other ways to take care of ourselves. How about playing a board game? Libraries are beginning to open. They have been very creative finding ways to entertain us and many loan board games the same as they do books!
You may not think taking a virtual class would be fun, but there are lots of fun and interesting virtual classes going on this summer. And many of them at no cost!
Physical activities for the whole family!
And how about going for a bike ride! It’s summer after all. There are so many fun places to take yourself on two wheels. Fun for the whole family.
How about going blueberry picking? This is blueberry season. Find a place near you:
Need some ideas about what to do with those blueberries once you’ve brought them home and washed them? Try these:
Thanks for checking in! Stay cool, drink water, and come back to see us. We enjoy the company.
