It is spinach season!

Fresh spinach is in season!  That means that right now you can get the freshest, most delicious spinach of the year.  Choose locally-grown, fresh-picked spinach.  Rinse it carefully and use it as soon as possible.  Try fresh, tender spinach instead of lettuce in salads and sandwiches – it’s more nutritious!  And when you do cook it, steam it just until it wilts, or sauté it quickly with a little oil and garlic.  Spinach tastes great plain, with a little vinegar, or you can add it to omelets, pastas, soups, or casseroles.   Enjoy fresh spinach!
