Cold weather makes most of us want to hibernate from the snow and the holiday craziness.  It is during this time in which taking care of ourselves is a priority.

If you do get the sniffles, drink plenty of water and herbal tea with honey to soothe your throat and keep your body hydrated.  Most people need 6-8 hours of sleep a night for their bodies and minds to sufficiently recover from stressful days.  Another way to de-stress during the day is to meditate, even if only for ten minutes.  Meditation can lower blood pressure, boost your immune system, and increase your ability to concentrate.  Lastly, make sure to spend time laughing and engaging with friends and family.  Laughter decreases stress hormones and increases immune cells and infection-fighting antibodies.

You can easily and naturally take care of you and your family this winter by using these winter survival tips.
